City closes off roads in downtown to take care of some tree-trimming maintenance for the trees found along the town’s major streets

EXETER – The city of Exeter is trimming up the trees in the heart of the community, that way citizens have a clear path to walk through downtown during the holiday season.

The city of Exeter is maintaining the downtown area this fall with some much needed tree maintenance. Starting Monday Oct. 30, the city brought its heavy machinery downtown between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. to trim trees before the Thanksgiving season.

The roads with trees requiring maintenance include: Pine Street from F Street to E Street on Oct. 30, Pine Street from E Street to D Street on Oct. 31, E Street from Pine Street to Palm Street on Nov. 1, and E street from Pine Street to Maple Street on Nov. 2.

For the safety of citizens and workers, the roads will be closed; however, sidewalks will remain open for customers who want to shop and continue to support local businesses.
