Tulare museum unveils Palette Club art show

Tulare Palette Club Spring Art Show makes return to Tulare Historical Museum to celebrate local artists’ talents through variety of artworks

TULARE – The Tulare Historical Museum’s Palette Club’s Spring Art Show is exhibiting a colorful palette of local artworks from the residents of Tulare County this spring.

The Tulare Palette Club’s Spring Art Show will be held in the Heritage Art Gallery in the Tulare Historical Museum from April 11 to May 25. A reception for the event will be on Thursday, April 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. The Tulare Spring Art Show is an annual art show to display local artists from all over the county.

“This reception will be showcasing the talents and everything that these artists bring into our community,” executive director/curator of the Tulare Historical Museum Patty Rocha said.

The art show accepts artists from all over the county of all ages and mediums. According to Rocha, they will be displaying all sorts of pieces such as watercolor paintings, oil paintings, sculptures, acrylics and mixed media.

Rocha anticipates that the exhibition will display around 20 artists and potentially more that 40 pieces, since each artist can enter up to two pieces in the show. The show will also have select pieces for sale depending on the artist.

“This is a show you can’t miss,” Rocha said in a letter from Tulare Historical Museum. “It showcases the wonderful talents of our local artists.”

During the display, guests have the option to walk through a curated art gallery that features local artists’ interpretations of Tulare’s founding. In addition to offering guided tours of these exhibits, the museum has a scheduled calendar of events with temporary art, historical, cultural and holiday exhibits on view in its Heritage Art Gallery and Depot Gallery.

The museum also features special collections dedicated to Tulare’s hometown heroes, including Olympic champions Bob Mathias and Sim Iness. It is also home to the Manuel Toledo Military Collection, one of the most comprehensive military collections in the Central Valley.
