Taco Bell Foundation donates $50,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County, funding programs that focus career preparation, mentorship and stipends for first jobs

FRESNO COUNTY – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County recently received a generous payout in the form of a $55,000 grant from the Taco Bell Foundation to support youth in Fresno County.

The funds will go toward after-school programs that focus on career/college preparation, mentorship and providing stipends for youth workers’ first jobs, according to an announcement from the Boys & Girls Club.

“Our partnership with Taco Bell has a huge ripple effect in our community because many teens from our clubhouses graduate high school and go on to become leaders, advocates and philanthropists,” said Diane Carbray, President/CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County via announcement. “After-school programs at the clubs will continue to help youth dream big, be bold and succeed.”

Boys & Girls Clubs is one of more than 450 youth-serving organizations that will receive a portion of the nearly $23 million in community grants presented by the Taco Bell Foundation this year.

“Our Community Grants program is unique, because the funds are dispersed back to organizations in the local community they are raised in,” said Neil Borkan, Chairman of the Taco Bell Foundation. “We are so thankful for the generosity of our partners, customers and Taco Bell team members that make it possible for us to continue serving youth across the country.”

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. For 75 years, the BGCFC has provided a safe place for youth to learn and grow.

The club describes itself as a private, non-profit community based organization that serves youth ages 6-18 at 14 locations in Fresno County, and is the largest youth-services organization in the county.
