Freedom Fest returns to Porterville with a bang

City of Porterville hosts the annual Freedom Fest Celebration this Saturday night to showcase several local vendors, fireworks display

PORTERVILLE – Before fireworks make their grand return for the Fourth of July, a sneak peek is coming to Porterville this Saturday night.

The annual Freedom Fest Celebration, hosted by the City of Porterville, return on June 29 with a showcase of local vendors and a fireworks display at the Porterville Sports Complex at 2701 W. Scranton Ave. The festival will showcase over 40 food and craft vendors, an aerial performance by Skydive Elsinore, special performance from “A Wish Your Heart Makes” and a popular Spray Zone which will provide opportunities to cool off throughout the evening.

When the Fire Department’s siren goes off, that’s a cue the water in the Spray Zone is about to start. The finale to the evening is the fireworks display at 9:00 p.m. The blast zone for the fireworks show will be on the west side of the Sports Complex behind the dog park.

Gates open at 3:00 p.m. and the festivities kick off at 5:00 p.m. Gates will close at 8:45 p.m. The cost of admission is per carload; $15 per pass in advance and $20 in cash the day of. There is also a limited amount of preferred parking passes for $30. Passes can be purchased at the Parks and Leisure Services office inside Centennial Plaza at 15 E. Thurman, Suite A.
