Tulare native has all hands on deck

Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Flor E. Salazar spends Independence Day holiday serving in the U.S.S. George Washington; Tulare native’s ship serves as part of Southern Seas 2024 in the Pacific Ocean

TULARE – Even thousands of miles away from her home, Boatswain’s Mate Seaman Flor E. Salazar is still doing the Central Valley proud. In the Pacific Ocean, the Tulare Native is serving her country on the U.S.S George Washington where she is assigned to the deck department’s 2nd Division.

The George Washington is deployed as part of Southern Seas 2024 which seeks to enhance capability, improve interoperability and strengthen maritime partnerships with countries throughout the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility.
