Visalia police arrest Polo Catter for possession of a gun, meth, Xanax bars and digital scale
VISALIA – Typically probation is a second chance with a short leash. Yet still some criminals can’t help but wind up back in the big house. At least that’s the case for Polo Catter.
According to the Visalia Police Department, the 42-year-old was out of probation for a nonviolent crime, and relegated to supervision under the county. But at approximately 4:12 p.m. last Wednesday, July 22, special enforcement unit officers were conducting enforcement in the 4500 block of west Noble. At this time, officers observed suspect Catter,, and contacted him.
During the contact, officers located a loaded unserialized Glock-style 9mm handgun, a half ounce of methamphetamine, 20 Xanax bars, packaging material, and a digital scale. Catter was taken into custody and booked at the Tulare County pretrial facility on multiple charges.

Sunday, July 26
At 9:06 pm. the Visalia Police Department received a call regarding a shooting in the area of Bridge and Riverbend. Officers arrived on scene and located a residence in the 300 block of E. Riverbend that had been struck by gunfire; two vehicles in the driveway were also struck. There were no injuries as a result of the shooting. The incident is still under investigation. At 1:21 a.m., patrol officers responded to a shooting that had just occurred at a house party in the 2800 block of S. Conyer St. Two victims were discovered to have non-life threatening injuries as a result of the shooting. They were both treated at local hospitals for their injuries. Tuesday, July 21
At 10:31 a.m., the Visalia Police Department’s narcotics unit with the assistance of the special enforcement unit and Tulare Area Regional Gang Enforcement Team (TARGET) served a search warrant in the 600 block of E. Harold. As a result of the search, a digital scale, packaging material, $2,632 in U.S. currency and over two ounces of heroin were found and seized. Leonard Ponce Sr., 58, and Wendy Ponce, 42, were arrested for possession of heroin for sales and conspiracy. Leonard was booked at the Tulare County pretrial facility and Wendy was released at the scene on a citation to care for a family member at the residence.
