Brett Eymard arrested after running stop sign at McAuliff and Walnut causing two other cars to collide
VISALIA – One local man spent the night in the slammer on Sunday, but only because he slammed into another car while under the influence.
Brett Eymard, 38, was arrested on Sunday, Oct. 11 after running a stop sign on McAuliff and Walnut. According to officers they received a call at 6:40 p.m. and were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival a witness stated a gray Toyota minivan driven by Eymard struck a gray Honda SUV that was traveling westbound on Walnut.
The collision caused the Honda to collide into a red Dodge pickup truck that was waiting to turn northbound onto McAuliff from Walnut. Eymard, the Toyota’s sole occupant, was evaluated and arrested for driving under the influence. He sustained minor injuries and was treated at Kaweah Delta Medical Clinic prior to being booked at the Tulare County pretrial facility.
The occupants of the Honda, driver and minor children, sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Kaweah Delta for treatment. The occupants of the Dodge were uninjured.

Sunday, Oct. 11
At approximately 8:39 a.m. the Visalia Police Department responded to a call for service at the Spirit Halloween Store located at 3303 S. Mooney Blvd. Upon arrival officers discovered that a suspect had made entry into the business after smashing the window. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of property. Saturday, Oct. 10
At approximately 4:17 a.m. the Visalia Police Department responded to a burglary alarm at AJ’s Quik Mart located at 5205 W. Goshen. Upon arrival officers discovered that an unknown suspect had made entry to the business after smashing a window. The suspect fled with an undetermined amount of property. At 12:59 a.m., officers responded to a robbery that just occurred in the 2600 block of West Buena Vista. The victim advised he observed a white sedan stop in the roadway and an unknown Hispanic male passenger exit the vehicle wearing a black bandanna covering his mouth and nose. The male approached him, brandishing a handgun and demanded money. The victim complied and the male returned to the vehicle and fled the area. Wednesday, Oct. 7
At 6:30 p.m. officers responded to the 400 block of North Giddings for a report of a possible DUI driver. The suspect vehicle left prior to officers’ arrival and the reporting party provided the suspect vehicle’s description as well as the direction of travel. A short time later, officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle where a records check found the vehicle to be reported stolen. Officers attempted a traffic stop where the suspect vehicle failed to yield. After a short pursuit the suspect vehicle pulled over and the driver, Maria De La Rosa, 45, was taken into custody without incident. A search of the vehicle was conducted where 1.25 pounds of methamphetamine was located. De La Rosa was later transported and booked into the Tulare County pretrial facility.
