Visalia PD wraps up Christmas car thieves

Visalia police arrest three in connection with stealing, driving a car on Christmas night

VISLALIA – Christmas cannot go by without at least someone playing the Grinch. And this Christmas there were three people donning the role of Christmas thieves.

According to the Visalia Police Department at approximately 11:49 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 25 a patrol officer located an occupied stolen vehicle in the area of Shirk Road and Goshen Avenue. The vehicle yielded near Plaza Drive and Crowley Avenue where all the occupants were taken into custody without incident. Arrested was Bruce Woodward, 33, Nichole Teran, 43, and Kristine Prescott, 39.

Woodward was found to be on active parole, and Teran and Woodward were found to be on active Tulare County probation. All three suspects were transported and booked into the Tulare County adult pretrial facility for charges related to the stolen vehicle and for violation of parole and probation.

Sunday, Dec. 26

At approximately 7:19 a.m., officers responded to the area of Dinuba and Robin regarding an unoccupied vehicle left in the roadway with the doors open. An adult male victim was contacted in a nearby neighborhood with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. A deceased canine was also located nearby. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment for his injuries.
