Visalia man dies in fatal car collision

A car accident on Avenue 328 and Road 112 turns fatal, results in the death of a 55-year-old Visalia driver

VISALIA – A Visalia resident has passed away following a recent car collision near the city that resulted in the resident being ejected from the vehicle.

On Aug. 2, at approximately 10:13 p.m., Fresno Communications Center received 911 calls of a crash at Avenue 328 and Road 112 in the Visalia area. Officers from the California Highway Patrol Visalia Area office were dispatched to the scene to investigate.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 38-year-old male of Visalia was driving a 2017 Dodge eastbound on Avenue 328, approaching Road 112. A 55-year-old male of Visalia was riding a 2002 Honda westbound on Avenue 328, approaching Road 112. The driver of the 2017 Dodge failed to see the 2002 Honda as it approached and turned northbound onto Road 112.

The rider of the 2002 Honda struck the right side of the 2017 Dodge and was ejected. The rider was transported to Kaweah Health Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash.

The California Highway Patrol wants to remind people to be aware of motorcycle riders.
