PARLIER – A young woman from Parlier was involved in a car rollover accident that ended fatally. She was the sole occupant of the car, and the reason behind the crash is still unknown.

On Sept. 9 at roughly 3 a.m., the Fresno Communication Center (FCC) received a call of a crash on Manning Avenue, east of McCall Avenue, with medical personnel responding. Officers from the California Highway Patrol Fresno Area responded to the scene and investigated the crash.

It was determined a 24-year-old female was driving a Toyota eastbound on Manning Avenue, east of McCall Avenue. The driver failed to maintain control of her vehicle as it veered out of the roadway. The vehicle traveled across the dirt divider and across all westbound lanes of Manning Avenue, subsequently colliding with a guard rail. The Toyota rolled multiple times until coming to rest.

The driver and sole occupant of the car sustained critical injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs was a factor in this crash, pending toxicology results. This investigation is ongoing.

Sept. 15

Just before 4 a.m, FCC received 911 calls of a crash at northbound Highway 99, south of Drive 92B, which resulted in the death of a man from Tulare. Officers from the California Highway Patrol Visalia Area Office were dispatched to the scene to investigate.

The preliminary investigation indicates a 40-year-old male of Tulare was driving a 2015 Kia northbound on State Route 99, south of Road 92B, in the #1 lane. A 66-year-old male of Delano was driving a 2015 Freightliner, pulling a set of trailers, northbound State Route 99, south of Road 92B, in the #2 lane.

The Kia was traveling at a high rate of speed, overtaking the Freightliner, when the driver allowed the Kia to travel to the left onto the median shoulder. The Kia crashed into multiple water filled crash barrels and then continued back to the east across northbound Highway 99 and struck the left front of the Freightliner.

The Kia continued to the east onto the east dirt shoulder and came to rest on all four wheels. The driver of the Freightliner stopped on the shoulder.  The driver of the Kia was pronounced deceased on scene. It is unknown if alcohol and or drugs appear to be a factor in this crash.
