Man arrested in Visalia for child abuse material

Visalia police units arrest and detain 79-year-old Chris Hale for possession of obscene materials that involved minors

VISALIA – As the result of a search warrant served by Visalia police, a man has been arrested and booked into a detention facility for his possession of child abuse material.

After an ongoing child sexual abuse material investigation, the VPD Youth Services Unit – with the assistance of the VPD Violent Crimes Unit – served a search warrant at a home in the 2200 block of East Princeton Avenue on Feb. 22.

Chris Hale, 79, was arrested at the home for possession of obscene materials involving minors. Hale was transported and booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility for possession of child abuse material.

At approximately 9:01 p.m., Visalia Police Department patrol officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision.

Upon arrival, officers discovered the pedestrian on Douglas Avenue, east of Santa Fe Street. The victim was transported to Kaweah Health where he died from his injuries. The suspect vehicle fled the scene.
