Visalia police arrest suspect for neck stabbing

VPD arrest Stephen Mosley for allegedly stabbing a man in the neck, book him for attempted murder

VISALIA – One knife wielding suspect had cuffs slapped on him late last month after he allegedly stabbed a man in the neck.

According to the Visalia Police Department, officers  responded to the 1300 block of North Hall Street for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon on March 26, at 7:55 p.m. Once on scene, officers discovered a man with multiple stab wounds to his neck. The victim was transported to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment.

The VPD Violent Crimes Unit responded and took over the investigation. During the investigation Stephen Mosley, 28, was identified as the suspect.

Detectives with the violent crimes unit and members of the HOPE team began conducting surveillance of known locations associated with Mosley. Mosley was spotted in the 1200 block of North Rinaldi Street and was taken into custody without incident, and booked for attempted murder.

The victim has recovered and was released from the hospital.

April 7

Just after midnight, Visalia officers were dispatched to a collision where a vehicle had collided with a tree at Shannon Parkway and Mendonca Street. The officers were informed that the vehicle was on fire.

Once on scene, both officers and bystanders worked together using several fire extinguishers to extinguish the fire until the fire department arrived. Tragically, despite their efforts to save the driver’s life, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The VPD Traffic Unit responded and is investigating the collision.

April 5

After an ongoing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) investigation, the VPD Youth Services Unit served a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of South County Center Street.

The investigation began after officers received a cyber tip concerning the viewing of CSAM at the home. As a result, Timothy Scott Skala, 33, was arrested and was found to have viewed CSAM on his mobile device.

Skala was transported and booked at the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Facility for possession of child abuse material.
