Welfare check uncovers homicide case in Woodlake

Young mother found dead in Woodlake residence, multiple agencies respond to investigation

WOODLAKE – In the early hours of a recent Thursday, a routine welfare check by the Woodlake Police Department led to a tragic discovery that has since unfolded into a complex investigation involving multiple local law enforcement agencies.

On June 13 at approximately 03:18 a.m., officers with the Woodlake Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 200 Block of S. Oak St. regarding a welfare check. Officers responded to the residence and began their investigation ultimately discovering a deceased female inside of the residence.

Investigators from the Woodlake, Exeter, Farmersville and Lindsay Police Departments responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Based on the investigation, Anthony S. Flores, 24, was ultimately taken into custody and booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility on charges of homicide.

The family later identified the deceased female as Gabby Quesada, 23. She left behind three children, Johvahn, 5, Jahsaeus, 4, and Joel, 7 months.

This investigation is still active and ongoing.
