One dead in collision on Mooney Boulevard

Visalia officers respond to accident on Mooney Boulevard, Cameron Avenue for case of pedestrian versus vehicle collision

VISALIA – On a recent Tuesday, Visalia officers responded to a case of a car versus pedestrian collision that occurred on Mooney Boulevard and Cameron Avenue, which resulted in the unfortunate death of one.

The Visalia Police Department was called to the scene around 9 p.m. on July 2. Initially, it was believed that the driver involved in the accident had fled the scene. However, it was later found that the driver had pulled into a nearby parking lot and contacted police to report the collision.

Unfortunately, the pedestrian died at the scene.

The driver is cooperating fully with law enforcement. The VPD Traffic Unit responded to the scene and is currently investigating the collision. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
