Graveside services for Geraldine Emma Jeffries Chapman, 82, of Lindcove are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at the Woodlake cemetery. On Oct. 31 she went to be with her Lord.
She was born to Willis and Minnie Jeffries on March 13, 1921 in Stratton, Neb. She and her husband, Ralph Chapman, celebrated 50 years of marriage in January 2003 and have lived in Lindcove (Exeter) since 1975.
God answered Geraldine's prayers and blessed them with three children; Ralph Milton III, Ideal Louise, and Willis James. Ralph's daughter, Saundra and her two daughters, Sherry and Mary joined their family in 1964.
She loved God, her family, and others. She was incredibly giving and selfless. She never met a stranger! Her life was an example of a life led by Jesus. As the pastor's wife, she was a big part of the ministry she and Ralph shared.
She leaves behind a family who loved her, are thankful of her life, the impact she had on each of them, and look forward to being together again one day; her husband, Ralph of Exeter; her son Ralph III, and his wife, Cecilia of Woodlake, their children, Trevor Chapman and wife, Janelle and their daughter, EmmaLey of Tulare, Casey Chapman and Dianne Chapman of Woodlake; her daughter Ideal Curtis and her husband Les and their son Kurt of Reedley; her son Willis and his wife Melodee and their children, Nathan, Bethany, Benjamin and Hannah Chapman of Dyersburg, Tenn.; Saundra Chapman and her children, Sherry Murphy of Visalia, Mary Stewart and husband, Paul and their children, Amanda and Chris of Exeter; son-in-law, Travis Columbus of Silver City, N.M. and his children, JT Columbus, Sandy Columbus and Leslie Darling and their families; her brother, William Jeffries of Wauneta, Neb.; her sister, Rose Bishop of Gilbert, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Roseanne Columbus.
A memorial celebrattion of her life will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Woodlake.
One of the things dear to her heart was Christian Education. Remembrances can be made to the Geraldine Chapman Chapel Seat Fund at Immanuel Schools, 1128 S. Reed Ave., Reedley, CA 93654.
