Chapel services for Newman John Bergman, 88, of Strathmore are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5 at Myers Chapel (Sonlight Church) in Lindsay. He died on Nov. 27.
He was born in Pasadena on Sept. 25, 1915. He worked as a ranch foreman in citrus for 40 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Reeves of Strathmore; son, Eugene Bergman of Anaheim, Calif.; six brothers, Victor Bergman of Fresno, Truman Bergman of Stockton, Roy Bergman of California, Emeral Bergman of Los Angeles, Marvel Bergman of California and Wesley Bergman of Washington; sister, Carole Lofstedt of California; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Bergman in 2003.
