A Home Going Celebration was held on Dec. 6 for the Reverend Vernon Price who went home to be with his Lord on Dec. 3.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1914 in Texas and was raised and attended schools in the Bonham and Bells area. He was a graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth.
He came to California in 1962 to pastor the First Southern Baptist Church of Corcoran.
He is survived by his wife, Allie of Visalia; son, Jerry Price of Porterville; three daughters, Merle Cox of Riverside, Calif., Paula Foley of Pittsburg, Kan., Gayle Young of Lindsay and Linda Grant of Seattle, Wash.; sisters, Dorothy Silvey and Louise Tye; brothers, Archie Price and David Price all of Texas; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mildred; four brothers and a sister.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Vernon Price Memorial Fund, c/o Immanuel Baptist Church, 1276 E. Tulare Road, Lindsay, CA 93247.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hadley Funeral Chapel, Visalia.
