Graveside services for Glen R. Downing, 74, of Lindsay will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery. He died on Jan. 9.
He was born in Westplains, Mo. on Sept. 9, 1929. He married Thelma Ward in 1949 in Reno, Nev.
He was a resident of Lindsay for 54 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a member of Company F 32nd Infantry. He was a member of The American Legion. He loved to read especially western books and watch movies about the World Wars. He worked for Champion Home Builders in Lindsay for 22 years.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Downing of Lindsay; son, Dale Russell Downing of Grover Beach, Calif.; daughter, Sandra Gill of Lindsay; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are under the direction of Webb-Sanders Funeral Home, Lindsay.
