Funeral services were held on Jan. 10 in Tulare for Harry M. Nagata, 92, of Strathmore with interment at the Tulare District Cemetery. He passed away on Jan. 1 in Lindsay.

He was born to Fred and Momoye Nagata on Jan. 15, 1911 in Orangehurst, now known as Lindsay, where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Visalia Union High School in 1929. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married the former Kumiko Ishihara in Minneapolis, Minn. in 1944. After his discharge he and his wife returned to Strathmore to make their home. He was a farmer retiring in 1995. He was of Methodist faith. He enjoyed being with his family and had a special love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Survivors include his son, Harry "Bill" Nagata and his wife Linda of Sacramento; daughter, Carol Ann Nagata of Fresno; sister, Gertrude Watanabe of Gardena, Calif.; two grandchildren, Mark Nagata and his wife Joni of Cerritos, Calif. and Stephanie O'Neill and her husband Dan of Orange, Calif.; one great-grandson, Matthew Nagata of Cerritos; three great-granddaughters, Marisa, Trina and Kimi Nagata all of Cerritos.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Kumiko on March 8, 2003.

Remembrances may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
