Funeral services were held on Jan. 16 in Exeter for Georgia L. Huneke, 87, of Hanford. She died peacefully on Jan. 12.
She was born in Hannibal, Mo. and raised in Exeter by her parents, Cliff and Lola Moore. She attended College of the Sequoias, graduated from Fresno State and was a long-time physical education teacher at Lemoore High School. She lived in Hanford with her husband, Verne Huneke who died in 1969. In retirement she was active in the Hanford Garden Club and as a California statewide flower show judge.
She is survived by her three children, John, Judith Hein and Bruce; sister, Helen Burr of Lindsay; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as "Mi."
Arrangements were under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
