Per her request, no services will be held for Stella "Nana" Esquivel, 78, of Exeter. She passed away on Jan. 15.

She was born in Exeter on Feb. 28, 1925 to Juan C. Hernandez and Benita R. Hernandez. She was raised in Exeter where she grew up with 11 brothers and sisters. She married Joe M. Esquivel, also of Exeter, on Oct. 12, 1958. Together, they raised their children in Exeter.

She was recognized by all her childrens' friends in school, for she never missed a school activity or athletic event at home or away.

She spent most of the last three years in Tehachapi with her daughter and son-in-law and their two children.

She was so loved by her family and all who knew and understood her. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Joe M. Esquivel; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Esquivel, Jr. and Suzie Esquivel, and Suzie's daughters, Michelle and Jessica Stacey all of Exeter; daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Michael D. Morigeau of Tehachapi, and their two daughters, Cheyenne and Sheridan; three sisters, Benita Saldivar, Mary Vasquez and Patsy Erwin all of Exeter; two brothers, John Hernandez of Arizona and Max Hernandez of Exeter; numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

Arrangements were under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
