Per her request, no services will be held and private burial will be in the Visalia Cemetery for Barbara Jean Gettman, 76, of Visalia. She passed away on Jan. 29.
She was born in Omaha, Neb. on March 7, 1927. She was raised as a missionary child, having lived in several areas of the world. She married Earl Gettman in Washington in 1947. They came to Visalia 25 years ago. She worked as a mobile home park manager and was foremost a homemaker for her family. She loved to visit the elderly and nursing home residents; it was a ministry of love and caring.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Gettman of Visalia; sons, Jim Gettman of Colorado and Rick Gettman of Fresno; daughter Sue Lummer of Visalia; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
