Funeral services for Forrest "Bud" Brown, 73, of Porterville were held on Feb. 13 at Webb-Sanders Funeral Home. Burial was in the Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery. He died on Feb. 6.
He was born in Eureka, Kan. on Nov. 25, 1930. He married Georgia Lee Walters on Feb. 7, 1955 in Nevada.
He was a graduate of Lindsay High School. He spent two years in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He worked for V.R. Smith and Lindsay Ripe. He spent 40 years working for Young Commercial Transport as a dispatcher. He lived in Bakersfield since 1961. He enjoyed working on vehicles and just plain working.
Survivors include his son, Donald Brown of Bakersfield; two daughters, Lisa Brown of Bakersfield and Julie Simmon of Guam; three sisters, Irene Gass of Missouri, Frances Brown of Visalia and Lucille Watkins of Porterville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Brown in 1967.
Arrangements were under the direction of Webb-Sanders Funeral Home, Lindsay.
