Graveside services for Frank L. "Tack" Hammer, 86, of Lindsay were held on March 8 at Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery. He died on Feb. 29.

He was born in Lindsay on Oct. 15, 1917. He was a life-long resident of Lindsay. He attended Lindsay High School. He married Madine E. Smith on Feb. 14, 1937 in Lindsay. He worked as a fabricator and carpenter for Chapmans Welding, FWC, and Broddex. He and his brother built the Chapel at Webb Funeral Home and also made caskets for them in there young years. He enjoyed working as a craftsman, woodwork, and restoring furniture.

Survivors include his wife, Madine E. Hammer of Lindsay; son, Robert Hammer of Boerne, Texas; brother, Donald "Sledge" Hammer of Hanford; three sisters, Margret Ayres of Visalia, Wilma Hembree of Santa Barbara and Melva Koffman of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Veta Perezzo, in 1989. Arrangements were under the direction of Webb-Sanders Funeral Home.
