Graveside services for Cleo R. Tiesen, 91, of Visalia will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 18 at the Exeter District Cemetery. She passed away on Sunday, March 14 in Visalia.
She was born on July 27, 1912 in Glendive, Mont. She was raised outside Lindsay, Mont. where she went to grade school and later graduated in Glendive in 1932. She met and married Herbert F. Tiesen in 1933. After their marriage they moved to South Dakota where they lived until 1953 when they moved to Hawthorne, Calif. There her husband worked in the aircraft industry and she worked as a grocery checker and later as a checker at a drugstore. After retirement they moved to Santa Paula, Calif. where she was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, Senior Citizens, Missionary Society, Grandmothers Club, ICBU Club, all of which she held offices. She lived there for 33 years before moving to Tulare County.
Survivors include her son, Frank Tiesen and his wife, Merle of Seaside, Calif.; daughter, Joyce Davis and her husband, Ken of Exeter; granddaughter, Kim Tribeault and her husband, Dennis of El Dorado, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert in 1970; a grandson, Mark; brother, Royal John; and four sisters, Irene Sweeney, Lucille Randall, Dorothy Johnson and Cora Lovaas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
