Graveside services were held on March 12 at Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery with Rev. Alex Ignacio officiating for John J. Nardiello, 86, of Lindsay. He died on March 10 at Kaweah Delta Hospital.
He was born on Nov. 27, 1917 in Pittsburg, Pa. He married Juanita Edna Brumley on Jan. 1, 1944 in Torrance, Calif. She passed away in April 1977.
He served in the United States Army during World War II and was part of the Normandy Invasion.
He moved to Lindsay from Torrance in 1980 after retiring from Torrance Unified School District where he worked as a custodian. After coming to Lindsay he worked for LoBue Brothers for about seven years.
He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed dancing. His greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Terry Nardiello of Lindsay; two brothers, Jerry Nardiello and Albert Nardiello both of Pittsburg, Pa.; sister, Angeline Vorrasi also of Pittsburg; two grandchildren; and four grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Webb-Sanders Funeral Home, Lindsay.
