Graveside service for Ellen Franks, 91, formerly of Exeter will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 2 at the Exeter District Cemetery. She passed away at her home in Morro Bay on March 23.
She was born in Oldsburg, Kan. on Oct. 23, 1912. The family moved to California in 1914 living in the Dinuba and Cutler areas until 1926 when they moved to Exeter. She attended Kaweah Grammar School and Exeter Union High School. She married Louie Franks on June 7, 1931 and together they owned and operated Louie's Fix-It Shop in Exeter until 1958 when they moved to Morro Bay.
Survivors include her brother, Robert Rhodes of Anchorage, Alaska; nephew, Robert Hirni and family of San Rafael, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie in 1987; and son, Alton Franks in 1992.
Friends may call from 1-4 p.m. on Thursday, April 1 and from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday, April 2 at Smith Family Chapel, 505 E. Pine St., Exeter.
