Bobby Royce "Buck" Buckmaster

A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, April 2 at the Eshom Valley Cemetery for Bobby Royce "Buck" Buckmaster, 72, of Badger. He died on March 28.

He was the son of Orbie F. and Della (Yakley) Buckmaster on Sept. 12, 1931 in Wetunka, Okla. and moved to Visalia in 1936. At age 17 he joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He married Maggie, formerly Maria Magdalena Padilla, in 1984 and established a home in Badger. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He worked as a painting contractor, auto mechanic, trained horses, trapping lines, and the Department of Forestry until he married Maggie, then he assisted her in the daily activities of her popular restaurant in Badger called Spanish Corral until they retired. He loved roping, roundups/brandings, fishing, hunting, growing fruit, vegetables and partying with friends.

He is survived by his wife, Maggie; six children, BobbieAnn and husband Curtis of Visalia, Della and husband, Doug Myers of Exeter, Trina and husband Barry Lowry of Lindsay, June and husband Scott Grisham of Visalia, Robin and husband Manney Santoyo of Porterville and Bobby Buckmaster II of Tulare; two step-children, Maria and husband David Beckley of Visalia and Juan Manuel and wife Mary Landron of Santa Maria; uncle, JC and wife Bernice Buckmaster of Visalia; two brothers, Orvil and wife Opal Buckmaster of Visalia and Smoky and wife Donna Buckmaster of Duncan, Okla.; sister, Jerry and husband Don Lee of Dinuba; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and beloved dog, Blue.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Arrangements were under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
