Funeral services were held on April 8 for Norma Lee Harper, 65, of Visalia. She departed this life on April 5.
She was born on Dec. 9, 1938 in Visalia to James and Opal Freeman. She was raised and attended schools in the Visalia and Venice Hill area. She was introduced to Robert Harper by her brother, John and they fell in love. They were married on March 19, 1955 in Reno, Nev. They made their home in Exeter and Visalia raising their three sons. She was a hair dresser in Exeter and in Visalia for many years. After she retired she became an excellent foster mother to many children. She enjoyed playing bingo, painting and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved watching them play sports, whether it be soccer or softball.
Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Robert Harper; her three sons, Robert Harper and partner, Craig Mills, David E. Harper and wife, Roxie all of Visalia and Ricky C. Harper and wife, Loretta of Tulare; three grandchildren, Jason Harper of Visalia, Melissa and Brittany Harper of Tulare; sister, Shirley Mae Cotta of Woodlake; two brothers, Donald Freeman and wife, Verleen of Porterville and Johnny Freeman and wife, Shirley of Bullhead City, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert Tate, Charles Freeman and Joe Freeman.
She will be dearly missed by those who knew her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and best friend. Arrangements were under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
