Mass for Crespin G. Martinez, 68, of Lindsay was held on April 19 at Sacred Heart Church in Lindsay. Reverend Alex Ignacio officiated. He was buried in the Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery. He died on April 13 at Sierra View District Hospital.
He was born on June 13, 1935 in Brownsville, Texas. He married Maria Lopez on July 13, 1953 in Lovington, N.M. He worked as a farm laborer for 45 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lindsay. He was a member of the AFL-CIO labor union. He loved being with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Crispin Martinez Jr. in 2004 and Joe Lopez Martinez in 2001; his daughter, Lisa Martinez in 1996. He is survived by his wife, Maria L. Martinez; son, Alfredo Freddie Martinez of Lindsay; two daughters, Diana Gil of Lindsay and Sylvia Martinez of Hanford; two brothers, Rudolfo Martinez of Lindsay and Tino Martinez of Visalia; three sisters, Angie Cruz and Maria Martinez both of Lindsay, and Esther Carrizales of Porterville; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Webb-Sanders Funeral Home in Lindsay.
