A memorial service for Sandra Deanna Childres, 60, of Farmersville was held on April 15 at Evans-Miller Funeral Chapel in Exeter. She passed away on April 11 after battling cancer.
She was born in Wilberton, Okla. on April 7, 1944. She moved to Farmersville where she raised five boys. She was a driven person and wanted the best for her family. She wasn't afraid to work hard. She began her successful journey by opening her own beauty shop and later she started her own bookkeeping business, Sandy's Bookkeeping.
She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She played in the first women's softball league in Farmersville and for many years in the Visalia City League. She loved dancing, and won numerous awards. She ran Bingo at the Moose Lodge in Visalia for many years. She enjoyed playing Bingo and poker, especially during family reunions in Las Vegas. She loved the outdoors. She spent many summers on the lake and loved spending time working in her yard.
She will be remembered for her uplifting spirit, energetic personality and her caring heart. She was well liked by those who knew her and had several wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mosell Birrer; father, Loy Baxter; stepfather, Leon Birrer; brother, Stanley Baxter; and her infant son, Timothy Bayne. She is survived by five sons, Randy Bayne and his wife Rhonda, Scott Bayne, Ricky Bayne and his wife Michella, Ty Bayne and his wife Shandae, Davey Childres and his wife Nancy; sister, Linda Anderson; brother, Allen Baxter and his wife Ginger; sister-in-law, Shirley Baxter. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Deanna Bayne; Cory and Kayla Eubanks; Mercedes, Ricky and Rio Bayne; Jordan, Journey and Jaci Bayne; and Kylie and Caitlyn Childres.
Arrangements were under the direction of Evans-Miller Chapel in Exeter.
