Graveside services for Jane Hoyt Mason, 86 of Lindsay, will be held at 10 a.m. today, April 28 at the Lindsay Strathmore Cemetery. Reverend Thomas O. Elson will officiate the services. She died at home on April 22.
She was born on Aug. 3, 1917 in Biggs, Calif. She married Lawrence Mason on June 14, 1942 in Lindsay.
Mrs. Mason was a resident of Lindsay for 65 years. She was a homemaker who loved to take care of her family. She taught the third grade at Washington Elementary School in Lindsay for two years. She graduated from San Jose State in 1939 with a teaching credential.
She was a member of the Lindsay Hospital Guild, Lindsay Woman's Club, American Association of University Women and was a past president of Girl Scouts of America.
She is survived by one son, Bert Mason of Fresno; two daughters, Martha Bucholtz of Exeter and Sally House of Thousand Oaks. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Hospice of Tulare County, located at 900 W. Oak St. in Visalia or to the donor's charity of choice.
