Graveside services for Wilbert Gearld Killingsworth, 87, of Exeter were held on April 23 at the Exeter District Cemetery with military honors provided by the Fresno Military Honors Program. He died on April 19 at Kaweah Delta Hospital.
He was born to Halley and Ethel Killingsworth on May 14, 1916 in Greenfield, Mo. He was raised in Missouri where he met and married Hazel Marie Glenn on April 4, 1936.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. They came to California in the mid-1940s settling in the Lemon Cove area. He worked on the Terminus Dam project and had worked many years with the State of California as a highway construction worker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel, on July 9, 2003; and a son, Bill E. Killingsworth. He is survived by two daughters, Shirley Gemmell of Porterville and Betty Alford and her husband Larry of Fresno; a son, Jack E. Killingsworth of Visalia; a brother, Leon Killingsworth of Visalia; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
