Services were held for Gudelia Ramirez Vargas, 97, of Exeter May 6 and May 7 at Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Exeter District Cemetery. She died on May 1 in Visalia.
She was born on April 7, 1907 in San Salvador, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She was a homemaker and well known for her homemade flour tortillas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She will be lovingly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Teodulo Vargas, in 1985; sons, Jose S. Vargas and Ruben Vargas; daughters, Leandra V. Salazar and Elena V. Garcia. She is survived by her sons, Roberto Vargas of Exeter, Ignacio and Raquel Vargas of Richmond, Calif.; daughters, Petra Ortiz of Bluetown, Texas and Maria and Porfirio Enrique of Farmersville; 29 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were under the direction of Evans-Miller Chapel of Exeter.
