Graveside funeral services for Ruth N. Christopher, 87, were held on May 7 at the Exeter District Cemetery. She died on May 1 in Camarillo, Calif.
She was born in Belle, Mo. to Robert and Lula Mae Newbound. She married Stanley Christopher in 1947 and the couple moved to Exeter in 1952. The couple owned and operated Christopher's Plumbing in Exeter. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women of Exeter and the Memorial Hospital Guild of Exeter. She moved to Camarillo in 1997 to be near her family.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed bowling, fishing and camping.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Christopher. She is survived by daughters, Ann Marie Keller and husband, Henry of Newbury Park, Calif., Edyie Lazalde and husband, Gilbert of Fresno, Coleen Judge and husband, Jim of Lee's Summit, Mo.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
