Private burial service for Billie Gene Grissom, 78,of Exeter will be held at the Exeter District Cemetery. He died on May 9 in Visalia.
He was born in Judsonia, Ark. He was raised in Arkansas and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Seabee. After the war he married Imogene Upton and they lived in the Bay area for a time until moving to Exeter in 1974. He had worked as a bartender for many years.
He was preceded in death by Mrs. Grissom in 2001.
He is survived by three children; Roger, Nina Lou and Linda Sue; three brothers, Bob of Exeter, James of Hayward and Glen Grissom of Oklahoma; and two sisters; Betty Austin of Exeter and Della Hudspeth of Bakersfield.
