Funeral services for Daniel K. Biggs of Lindsay were held on June 25 at Lindsay First Baptist and officiated by the Reverend Samuel Estes. Burial was at the Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery following services. He died on June 22 at Kaweah Delta District Hospital after a long illness.
He was born September 17, 1944 in Maywood, Calif. and attended schools in South Gate and graduated from Vangard University Costa Mesa, Calif. receiving his B.A. He married Sharon K. Neufeld of Tulare in 1965 and moved to Lindsay several years later where they lived for 36 years.
He worked for Tulare County as a Social Worker/Supervisor for 31 years. He served on numerous community boards, coached youth sports and was an avid Civil War Reenactor and a member of the Fort Tejon Civil War Association. He enjoyed reading, playing chess, gardening and traveling.
His greatest joy was being papa for his grandchildren and his greatest fulfillment was holding workshops at Teen Challenge in Shafter, Calif. teaching youngsters to set goals for their future and "Dreaming your Dreams."
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharon Biggs of Lindsay; daughter and son-in-law, Darla and Keith Thomas of Tulare; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Monica Biggs of Wasco, Calif.; three grandchildren, Kristian Moore of Wasco, Alexandria Biggs of Porterville, and Hunter Thomas of Tulare.
