Services for Dorothy Rodgers, 80, of Exeter will be held on Thursday, July 1 at 10 a.m. and visitation on Wednesday, June 30 from 3-7 p.m. at the Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.

Burial will be at the Exeter District Cemetery. She died on June 26 in Exeter.

She was born in Visalia on August 3, 1923. She married the Reverend Blufford McDonald in Visalia on April 6, 1943 where they made their home. They pastored the Eastside Assembly Church in Visalia for several years.

The Reverend McDonald past away on Nov. 3, 1972 and she married Clay Rodgers on Sept. 21, 1979. The couple moved to Modesto and she worked for her son, Dennis at Red Top Taxi for 11 years before moving to Lindsay. Mr. Rodgers passed away in 2000 and she later moved to Exeter.

She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and left a legacy of love and hard work to her family. Her heritage in life was the love of Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Sound of His Voice Church in Visalia.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, the Reverend Blufford McDonald and Clay Rodgers.

She is survived by children, Linda Hartley of Lindsay, Dennis McDonald of Modesto, Keith Rodgers and Roger Rodgers both of Texas; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family members and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
