Graveside services for Floyd O. Hulsey, 77, of Visalia will be held at 11:30 a.m. on July 1 at the Visalia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today, June 30 at Smith Family Chapel in Exeter. He died of cancer at his home with his family by his side on June 27.
He was born in Hot Springs, Ark. to Otis and Jane Hulsey on May 8, 1927. He married Marjorie Turner in Arizona in 1947 and they came to California later that year, settling in Tulare County. Floyd worked at the Dinuba Police Department until transferring to the Tulare County Sheriff's Office in 1951. He became a California Highway Patrolman in 1957, retiring in August 1984 after 34 years in law enforcement. He was a member of the Woodland Drive Baptist Church in Visalia.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie, of Visalia; three sons, Larry of Delano, Terry of Visalia and Steve of Colorado; three brothers, Vernon of Texas, Argus of Colorado and Gary of Nevada; a sister, Loredo Russell of Missouri; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
