Services for Lester Pardue, 81, of Franklin, Ind. (formerly of Raymond, Ind.) will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 6 at Forest Lawn Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, State Route 135 Greenwood, Ind.
Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6 at the funeral home. He died on June 27 in Greenwood, Ind. He was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Lemon Cove. His parents were John and Flossie (Landers) Pardue. He married Alma Jean Vincent on June 12, 1942. He was formerly employed by Rainbow Bakery, Neilsen's Creamery in Tulare and retired as the San Joaquin Valley regional manager for Knudsen's Creamery in Tulare. He enjoyed running, golfing, ranching, building, and he was an avid gardener. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Alma Jean on Jan. 29, 2003; four brothers, Frank, Newell, Art, and Edward Pardue; and a sister, Hazel Pifer.
He is survived by his son James L. (Coco) Pardue of Bellingham, Wash.; two daughters, Judith (John) Mentzer of Franklin, and Brenda (Dan) Kirkley of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Elsie Metzler, four grandchildren, James S. Mentzer II, John M. Mentzer Jr., Chris Kirkley, and Alisha Schwartz; and five great-grandchildren, Austin, Anya, Josie, Fiona, and Sam.
