Memorial services for Marilyn Grace (McClure) Wilsey, 70, formerly of Lindsay were held on Monday at the Lindsay Methodist Church. A private burial was held at the Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery. She died on July 7 at her home in Turlock, Calif.
She was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minn. Her family moved to California and she attended Lindsay High School. She continued her education at University of the Pacific in Stockton, earning a bachelor's degree in education in 1955. That same year she married her husband, Carl Wilsey. They had lived in Illinois and Colorado before settling in Turlock in 1980. She was a teacher and a speech therapist. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and PEO. She also was a volunteer at Emanuel Medical Center. She liked to read and traveled through the world. She is survived by her husband, Carl Wilsey of Turlock; her mother, Grace McClure of Lindsay; a brother, James McClure of Southern California; a sister, Diane Mendivil of Lindsay; a son, David Wilsey of Pacific Grove; a daughter, Diane Wilsey of Turlock; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation at P.O. Box 224523, Dallas, TX 7522. Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Mortuary.
