Memorial services for Susanna W. Holve, 102, of Fresno were held July 19 at the First Presbyterian Church of Lindsay. Rev. Thomas O. Elson officiated. There was a private family interment. She died on Jul 14 at her home in Fresno.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1901 in Austria-Hungary, which was later split into two countries. She married Alfred Holve on Sept. 27, 1922 in Los Angeles. She was a long-time resident of Lindsay. She was a homemaker throughout her life who loved taking care of her family. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lindsay. She was also a member of the Lindsay Garden Club, Worthwile Club and Presbyterian Women's Guild. She spent a lot of time doing volunteer work for the Pink Lady Lindsay Hospital, Plymouth Village and San Joaquin Gardens. She enjoyed cooking, walking, knitting and taking care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband in June 1969 and four brothers, Martin, Herman, Henry and John Holve. She is survived by four sons, Wilbur Holve of London, England, Leslie Holve of Santa Rosa, Calif., James Holve of Lindsay and Donald Holve of Berkeley, Calif.; two daughters, Doris Holve Harvill of Aptos, Calif. and Nancy Holve of Livermore, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
