Mass of Christian burial for Delta Cunha Sullivan, 91, of Visalia was held on July 19 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Visalia. She was buried at the Visalia Cemetery. She died from complications of Alzheimer's on July 15 at Kaweah Delta Hospital.
She was born the first of seven children to Antonio and Julie Cunha on Aug. 25, 1912 in Rio Vista, Calif. She came to Visalia with her family as a child attending schools in Visalia and graduated from Visalia Union High School. She married Joe Sullivan in 1933 in Hanford. She was a member of UPPEC Lodge No. 64, was a life member of SPRSI Lodge No. 106 and Court Little Flower 1003 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas as well as St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sullivan, in 1980; three sisters, Violet Greeson, Virginia Lund and Mary Frances Cunha; two brothers, Tony Cunha and Manuel Cunha. She is survived by two sons, Irving Leonard Sullivan and Charles Sullivan both of Visalia; a sister, Rose Purdue of Oceano; many cousins, nieces, grandnieces and nephews.
