A visitation for Robert Vaughn, Jr., 71, of Exeter was held on August 4 at Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel. A graveside service was held on August 5 at Exeter District Cemetery. He died on July 31 in Visalia.

He was born in Oklahoma City, Okla. on Jan. 29, 1933 and moved to the Exeter area at the age of three with his parents. He joined the Air Force in 1950 and served in the Korean War. He met his wife of 47 years, Alice Gragg of Visalia, whom he married in December 1957.

He worked many years as an aircraft electrician for McDonald Douglass Aircraft in Long Beach, Calif. and Boeing Aircraft in Evrett, Wash. He had been retired for 25 years. He enjoyed camping, traveling, reading and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Vaughn of Exeter, in October 2001. He is survived by his wife, Alice Vaughn of Exeter; daughters, Tammy Calhoun and husband Ben of Seabeck, Wash, Sandy Tankersley and husband Van of Silverdale, Wash., Danella Shannon and husband Tony of Planfield, Ill.; son, William Vaughn and wife Carol of Tulare; and daughter-in-law, Kim Vaughn of Exeter; sister, Lois Zearley of Tulare; 12 grandsons; three granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters.

Arrangements were under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
