A graveside service for Jack Watkins, 80, was held on Wednesday, Aug. 25 at the Exeter Cemetery. He died on Aug. 22 at the Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia.
He was born near Tulsa, Okla. to J.S. and Daisy Watkins on Dec. 29, 1923. He was raised in Oklahoma and came to the Woodlake area in 1935 and later to Lindcove and the Exeter area. He was a carpenter for the Carpenters Union #1109, Visalia. He married Shirley Cleaver in Carson City, Nev. on Feb. 12, 1976.
He is preceded in death by one son, Jerry Watkins in 1971.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Exeter; sons Larry Watkins of Lindcove and Troy Watkins of Exeter; one brother, Fred Watkins of Nevada; one sister, Jean Fry of Woodlake; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
