Services for Michael W. Johnson, 52, of Exeter were held on Sept. 3 at Evens-Miller Exeter Chapel. He died on Aug. 31 in Exeter.
Michael was the son of William and Dorris (Dodson) Johnson. He was born on Sept. 11, 1951 in Oxnard, Calif. where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Channel Island High School with the Class of '69. In 1969 he moved with his family to Farmersville and was employed by his parents who owned and operated the B & W walk up drive-in in Farmersville. He married the former Betty Beaird in Farmersville in 1972. Michael and Betty opened their drive-in, The Snack Shack, in Farmersville in 1974. Michael loved fishing, hunting, camping, and boating. He also liked to ride his tractor and take care of his lawn. But most of all he loved to be with his family and take care of his grandchildren.
Michael was a wonderful man and will dearly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Michael was a loving husband to Betty Johnson of Exeter; wonderful father to Michele Hughes and husband Chris, Julie Gutierrez and husband Ismael, and Stephanie Johnson all of Exeter; dear brother to Johnny Green and wife Susie of Camarillo, Calif., Donnie Johnson and wife Loretta of Exeter, and Ronnie Johnson and wife Barbara of Farmersville; devoted grandfather to Donovan Gutierrez, Ismael Gutierrez and Shelby Hughes, all of Exeter; proud uncle to several nieces and nephews; he is also survived by a host of friends.
Arrangements were under the direction of Evans-Miller Exeter Chapel.
