Memorial Service for Roma Loy Welch was held on Sept. 17 at the Visalia Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Roma Loy Welch passed away on Sept. 14. She was surrounded by loving family and friends during her time of need.

She was born in Garden City, Kan. on Sept. 21, 1935 to James and Dean Nixon. She graduated from Glendale Sanitarium and hospital school of nursing in 1956 to earn her RN degree. She was a resident of Visalia for more than 50 years. Many people knew her from her dedicated care to the community working with Dr. Russell Mitts as his RN for more than 25 of those years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth L. Welch; and her brother, David Nixon.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice S. Welch of Snohomish, Wash.; son, Steven R. Welch; and granddaughters, Megan and Shannon Welch of Gilroy, Calif.
