Graveside service for Ruby Rose Depew, 87, of Visalia will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. at Lindsay-Strathmore Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Reverend Thomas O. Elson. She died on Sept. 24 at Kaweah Delta District Hospital of Visalia.

She was born on Jan. 12, 1917 in Butte, Mont. She was the third child of John and Aurura Tickson. She graduated from Butte High School in 1934. Upon graduation she went into Nurses Training in Portland, Ore. She moved to Lindsay in 1940 where she started nursing at Lindsay District Hospital. This is where she met her husband, Raymond H. Depew whom she married in 1943 in Kelly Field, Texas. She retired after 47 years. She was active in the American Legion Womens Auxilary and served in many positions including President and was also a community volunteer at many events. She was chosen Woman of the Year for the City of Lindsay.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Depew on May 31, 1971; and her sister, Pearl Glogosky of Visalia.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri Phillips and husband, Ed; grandson, Brett Phillips and wife Debbie; great-granddaughters, Tiernan and Taryn Phillips of Ventura; son, Michael Depew and wife Dolly of Arizona; grandson, Thomas Depew of Fallbrook; son, Dennis Depew Sr. and wife Carrie of Visalia; grandson, Dennis Depew Jr. of Fresno, grandson, Steven Depew and wife January of Visalia; great-granddaughter, Trisha; grandson, Justin Depew USMC of Camp Pendleton, granddaughter Michelle depew of Visalia and many other relatives and friends she loved so much.

Arrangements were under the direction of Webb-Sanders Funeral Home of Lindsay.
