Fred J. Claggett was called home to spend eternity with his Savior and Lord Jesus Christ on Friday morning, Oct. 1.
He was born in Big Cabin, Okla. on June 4, 1923. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He received his degree in business administration at Oklahoma City University in 1950. He came to California and received a teaching credential from Fresno State College. He began teaching at Raisin City and then taught at Roosevelt Junior High School in Selma.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Takas and Laurie Sjostrand; son-in-law, Kevin Sjostrand; granddaughter, Nicole; grandson-in-law, Sammy Williams; and one great-granddaughter, Hannah.
Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. at Ararat Cemetery, 2314 Ventura, Fresno. Remembrances may be sent to the Fresno Rescue Mission, 310 G St., Fresno, CA, 93706.
