A Mass of Christian Burial for William James McKeever, 76, of Exeter was held on Oct. 11 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Exeter. He died on Oct. 6 in Visalia.

He was born in Oconto Falls, Wis. to Elmer and Alice McKeever on April 5, 1928. He was raised and schooled in Wisconsin. After graduation he worked in Milwaukee at Inland Steel Company and Pabst Brewery. William married Margaret Fields in Wisconsin in 1952. They moved to Granada Hills, Calif. in 1954 and worked for General Motors 34 years and then moved to the Exeter area in 1990. He was first and foremost a Green Bay Packer fan and an avid horseshoe player with membership in the Tulare and Reedley Horseshoe clubs. He belonged to Senior League Bowlers of Visalia.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert McKeever.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret McKeever of Exeter; one daughter, Janis Hammond and husband Dan of Exeter; one son, Michael McKeever of Sylmar; two brothers, Eugene McKeever and wife April of Northridge, Calif., and Jim McKeever and wife Kris of Antigo, Wis.; one sister-in-law, Bobbie McKeever; five grandchildren, Daniel and Kristin Hammond of Exeter, Meaghan McKeever of Palmdale, Matthew and Jason McKeever of Sylmar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
